Managing your locations
What is a location in Trips?
A location inside Trips is a collection of latitude and longitude, images, and description data. It can also be thought of as a key stop along a route, such as a port or overnight stay. Ankor has many out-of-the-box locations that can be used to build routes or customized depending on your needs.
Managing Trips locations involves creating new locations, adding them to your route, and populating them with relevant information. This allows you to customize your route and provide detailed information about each stop or destination.
Creating a New Location
To create a new location within your route, follow these steps:
- Open any new or existing route. If you are not sure how to do this, follow Create and Edit Routes.
- Navigate to the map area and click the purple "Create New Location" button to create a new location.
- Drag the location pin to the correct position on the map. If there is a name to the location, the name will automatically populate based on where the pin is located on the map. If you’ve made a mistake, feel free to delete the new location via the trash icon in the location pin.
- Click the "+" button to add the location to the specific day of the route. This will add the location to the next open day slot in your route.
- You can reorder or move the location to another day within the route via drag+drop.
- You can edit the content, add images, and add descriptions by clicking the newly added location and editing the content inside the content area. Learn more about this below.
Adding Information to Locations
Once you have created a new location or selected an existing one, you can populate it with relevant information. Here's how you can add details to your Trips locations:
- Click on the location in the route to open its details.
- Update the location name to accurately represent the stop or destination.
- Add a description that provides useful information about the location.
- Upload images to showcase the place or provide visual references.
- Include additional details, such as contact information, operating hours, or any other relevant information that enhances the travel experience, in the location description.
Managing Existing Locations
If you need to make changes or modifications to existing locations within your Trips route, you can easily do so. Follow these steps to manage your existing locations:
- Select the location you want to manage in the route editor.
- Update the location name, description, or any other relevant information.
- Adjust the order of locations by dragging and dropping them within the route if needed.
Managing your Trips locations gives you control over the details and customization of your route. By creating, adding, and populating locations, you can tailor your Trips route to your specific preferences and provide comprehensive information about each stop or destination.
